"The Benedict Arnold of Wushu"

I wish to respond to my friend's article regarding the "Wushu War". I'm referring to Herb Borkland's article (12/03), which sheds much needed light onto the complicated issues surrounding the failed coup attempt initiated by Jeff Bolt 11/2 '99. This article is in sharp contrast to past slanderous and false statements that were shamefully printed in several issues. The facts (not opinion) have already proven Bolt's guilt so why has he been treated with kid gloves by IKF?
Although Mr. Borkland's letter was overall positive, I do have to take issue with a couple of his statements. In the first paragraph he says, "…not because there is a clear-cut victor…" This is misleading. Anthony Goh is naturally the "clear-cut victor". Both sides claimed the Presidency, but only ONE has the moral and legal authority, that is Anthony Goh. Let's get real, if Bolt could have some how pulled off his dirty deed legally, he would be declared "winner". Therefore, since he failed, Bolt is the "loser" and Anthony Goh is the rightful "winner". Common sense dictates this. Not to say that American wushu was not sabotaged by Bolt's fiasco, indeed we have been temporarily set back. Jeff Bolt is the cause; the blame rests squarely on his shoulders for fabricating this fake crisis in order to achieve his clandestine goals. His small group of co-conspirators continues to divide the nation with their lies and slander. Even now that the smoke has cleared, they still keep barking at the train.

Later in his article, while trying to rationalize Bolt's bizarre behavior, Mr. Borkland says that Bolt's attempt to supplant himself as President "…makes emotional-logical sense to any freedom-loving American…" I suppose Mr. Borkland was trying to throw Mr. "So What" a cookie, but no matter how many "So Whats" Bolt flings around; his argument still makes NO "emotional-logical" or legal sense. Americans certainly do not love morons who conspire against their own compatriots undemocratically. This entire contest of wits has been like Zhu GeLiang vs. Elmer Fudd.

Bolt's motives are now clear as an azure sky. Besides trying to take over the USAWKF Presidency for himself, the evidence also indicates that Bolt was working with the corrupted Chinese officials to get the IWuF positions for his friends. Thankfully the U.S. has Anthony Goh to stand up to corruption and fight for the integrity of the American wushu community. He boldly demanded the removal of these corrupted IWuF officials. With the overwhelming support from the International wushu community, they were finally ousted. That kind of moxie (plus the fact that he was the man responsible for founding and building the USAWKF) leaves the U.S. wushu community in his debt. In contrast, Jeff Bolt will forever be remembered as America's first wushu traitor, the "Benedict Arnold of Wushu".
