Dear Friends,

We, as Wushu enthusiasts in the United States of America, are writing to you because a series of incidents occurred in the U.S. during the last two years that have caused severe harm to the development of Wushu in the U.S. as well as internationally. We are asking for your support and participation in our effort to prevent this incident from causing further damage to our community.

1.

USAWKF was founded in 1993, under the leadership of the Founding President Anthony Goh; the U.S. finally had an organization that could effectively and efficiently operate and conduct activities on a national level. The establishment of USAWKF has significantly improved and enhanced the development of Wushu in the U.S. USAWKF has also been the main contributor to the success and frequency of Wushu competitions and activities in the last decade.

2.

Mr. Anthony Goh is also the Founding President of the Pan America Wushu Federation (PAWF), which was founded in 1995. It currently consists of ten members/nations. PAWF has successfully conducted three biennial continental Wushu Championships in Argentina, Canada and Brazil. Mr. Anthony Goh was reelected unanimously as the President for PAWF for a term of four years in 2000, an indication that his contributions and reputation in the Wushu community in Pan America is widely recognized.

3.

On behalf of the USAWKF, Mr. Anthony Goh was the host of the 1995 World Wushu Championships held in Baltimore and brought the official Championship outside of Asia for the first time. This was a crucial step in enhancing international status of the International Wushu Federation (IWuF). With limited resources, Mr. Anthony Goh was responsible for the majority of the expenses of the Championships.

4.

Mr. Anthony Goh is the producer of the annual International Wushu Kungfu Festival and Championships in U.S. This event attracts nearly a thousand participants from around twenty countries and is the largest Chinese Martial Arts event in Pan America and in the Western Hemisphere. Today this event is a major international gathering of elites and renowned martial artists. It is a common ground for participants to exchange and brainstorm, as well as a place to nurture and cultivate enthusiasm for Wushu. Many consider this event as a model of Wushu Kungfu activities.

5.

For the last two years, evidence suggested that IWuF Secretary General, Mr. Li Jie, and Wu Bin have been involved and supported an illegal coup attempt conducted by then, USAWKF Vice-President, Jeff Bolt and his associates, to overthrow Mr. Anthony Goh as President of USAWKF.

6.

Mr. Anthony Goh is the Founding President of USAWKF, PAWF, and Organizer of the 1995 World Wushu Championships. His effort is crucial to the promotion and organization of Wushu Kungfu in U.S. as well as in Pan America. His contribution is unprecedented by any one else in the Wushu Kungfu community in U.S. His devotion to and investment in the Federation for the past decade has greatly helped to build the USAWKF into what it is today. The deceitful actions conducted by Li Jie and Wu Bin to Anthony Goh, someone who has contribute so much to the community nationally and internationally, is unacceptable to all of us.

7.

During these incidents, we realized that Jeff Bolt and his associates have made various groundless accusations and false claims, intended to mislead and deceive members of the Wushu community, for the purpose of continuing with the coup attempt efforts.

8.

With the dispute going on for nearly two years, the U.S. Wushu community has learnt the truth of the coup attempt. We understand that the former USAWKF Vice President, in order to seize power, took an opportunity to combine efforts with Li Jie and Wu Bin, who were involved for their own self-gain, and together they initiated an incident that has caused irreparable harm to the USAWKF and the whole community. Jeff Bolt and his associates are fully responsible for these illegal actions; similarly, Li Jie and Wu Bin's abuse of power and corruptive behaviors are unacceptable to our community.

We support the IWuF effort to make Wushu an Olympic sport, we also support China's leadership for the sport of Wushu internationally. However we cannot allow the violation of rules and the abuse of power conducted by Li Jie and Wu Bin and their associates to continue.

We would like to stress again the consequences and the damage caused are the responsibilities of Jeff Bolt, Li Jie and their associates. We are also aware that Wu Bin and his associates are conducting similar improper activities in other countries. We hope to unite people who are conscience and support the healthy development of Wushu-Kungfu to take action and make every effort to preventing them from continuing these harmful acts. We have begun and will continue to disclose their inappropriate behaviors on the website www.straightsword.com. We welcome your comments and your support of our effort to make it right and just for our community.
